Bouchon – Las Vegas

We absolutely had to make a stop at Bouchon in the Venetian while we were in Las Vegas. I had always been wanting to try the traditional croque madame and I heard this was the ideal place to do it.

Bouchon has a french cafe feel rather than a traditional french restaurant feel. With this restaurant being in the Venetian it makes you feel as though you are in France enjoying the most delicious cuisine.

RM Seafood by Rick Moonen was an amazing experience. The food was amazing, the atmosphere is very mellow but also gorgeous.

Oysters were prepared perfectly. None were stuck in the shells and were very fresh! Absolutely delicious!

The calamari pictured above was absolutely amazing! It was extremely fresh! Fried calamari with fried sweet and spicy cherry peppers. We just could not get enough of this dish! If you are a fan of calamari this is a must have!

Salmon was cooked to perfection.

Moonen’s mash and garlic spinach, two things that we could not resist trying. The mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious. The capers, red onion, and scallions were the prefect addition to this amazing side.

Back in Vegas!!

So currently I am back in Vegas enjoying the 100 degree weather and experiencing some amazing food. One of the best parts of Vegas is that most of fine dining restaurants here have tasting menus which allow for getting to taste smaller portions of menu items. Get ready for reviews on RM Seafood, The Social Clubs, and many more!!

One of my latest adventures

The latest adventure was to Sirio Ristorante at the beautiful Aria Hotel in Las Vegas. First off when you walk in the room is beautiful except for the fact that you can see out into the hotel and people are always walking by and it can get rather loud. Once you are seated the specials menu is already on the table but shortly after you are seated a waiter will walk over and hand you a large book of different wines as well as their regular menu.

We had to do the tasting menu which was more food than we had ever expected. You first get a basket of bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar which the bread is fresh and warm. Then with the tasting menu you are brought your first course which seems more like an entree’ then once you have finished that they refresh your table with what ever silverware you need for your pasta course. Again the amount of food is like another entree then they bring out your main course which was all amazing!

The food is spectacular except for the after meal cello.  You are not given the cello with your meal but it is one of their specialties. All the cello is produced in-house and sadly was a huge disappointment. I have had lemon cello previously and it was fantastic. This cello was simply too sweet. They offer you a tasting of cello in either 3,4, or 5 flavors. We tried the three which was lemon, mixed berry, and truffle. All they tasted like was sugar. After eating the amount of food given from the tasting menu we were simply unable to down that much sugar.

So to recap highly highly highly recommend the food but I do not recommend sampling the cello unless you have a major sweet tooth.
