Homemade Pasta

Posted in Uncategorized at 2:41 pm by Foodie With An Agenda

I have managed to successfully make homemade pasta for the first time. I used a very simple receipt of two eggs per cup of flour. After I had the dough worked enough to the pliable, I ran it through my hand crank pasta machine on several setting to be able to get it as thin and I needed it. Then once it was thin enough I ran it through the cutting side and made fettuccine. This pasta was the dried for about half an hour then cooked until al dente.  I then used it in my home made seafood fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and scallops. Pictures and receipt to come.

Bouchon – Las Vegas

We absolutely had to make a stop at Bouchon in the Venetian while we were in Las Vegas. I had always been wanting to try the traditional croque madame and I heard this was the ideal place to do it.

Bouchon has a french cafe feel rather than a traditional french restaurant feel. With this restaurant being in the Venetian it makes you feel as though you are in France enjoying the most delicious cuisine.

RM Seafood by Rick Moonen was an amazing experience. The food was amazing, the atmosphere is very mellow but also gorgeous.

Oysters were prepared perfectly. None were stuck in the shells and were very fresh! Absolutely delicious!

calamari

The calamari pictured above was absolutely amazing! It was extremely fresh! Fried calamari with fried sweet and spicy cherry peppers. We just could not get enough of this dish! If you are a fan of calamari this is a must have!

Salmon was cooked to perfection.

sides

Moonen’s mash and garlic spinach, two things that we could not resist trying. The mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious. The capers, red onion, and scallions were the prefect addition to this amazing side.

Back in Vegas!!

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , at 11:22 pm by Foodie With An Agenda

So currently I am back in Vegas enjoying the 100 degree weather and experiencing some amazing food. One of the best parts of Vegas is that most of fine dining restaurants here have tasting menus which allow for getting to taste smaller portions of menu items. Get ready for reviews on RM Seafood, The Social Clubs, and many more!!

Power shake

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , at 1:20 pm by Foodie With An Agenda

So typically I do not post about super healthy things but with this I could not resist. It is a very yummy breakfast shake that will keep you full most of the morning. It is simply plain greek yogurt, almond milk, a little water, and as many berries such as strawberries, black berries, raspberries.

A quick summer meal!!

I do a lot of cooking and this is probably one of the easiest receipts ever. This is a quick summer meal that you can make ahead of time and just refrigerate and it does not need to be warmed up.  All that it is is pasta, olive oil, a little garlic powder, black olives which are optional, chopped tomato, parmesan cheese, and pepperoni.  We like to eat things a little healthier so we used Armour Turkey pepperoni which is probably some of the best turkey pepperoni that I have ever eaten because it tastes like pepperoni. Just mix all the ingredients together and throw it in the fridge to chill for a little while and there you go a quick, tasty, and light summer meal!!

Beer battered cheese curds!

Posted in Food, Uncategorized tagged , , , , , at 10:29 pm by Foodie With An Agenda

Sometimes you find the most amazing food in the most unexpected places. This is one of those times. Who goes to a flea market looking for good food. I wasn’t until I stumbled across beer battered deep fried cheese curds from Wisconsin. I really am not a fan of deep fried anything but we could not get enough of these.

They are amazing little pieces of cheese that are served hot with your choice of dipping sause. I chose ranch but you can get bbq, ranch, salsa, or hot sause. There was a massive line for these things and I see why!!!
