The Bank Restaurant

Posted in Food tagged , , , , , , at 4:10 am by Foodie With An Agenda

The thanksgiving menu at The Bank Restaurant in Wheaton was absolutely amazing. The menu consisted of the most moist, tasty turkey that I have ever eaten, ham, incredibly tasty and moist stuffing, mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, an incredible take on the green bean casserole, and a very delicious pumpkin pie.

Not only was the food amazing but they have an incredible wine list and a long list of craft beers. The building was absolutely beautiful which gives great atmosphere to the meal as well as being quiet enough to have actual conversations with those around you. Prices are right on for the amount of food as well as the amazing tasting food. Everyone was very happy with their meal and we will all be returning during a non-holiday time. Shaw’s Crab House

Posted in Food tagged , , , , , , , , at 1:48 am by Foodie With An Agenda

Went on a little adventure recently to Shaw’s Crab House in Schaumburg because I was craving oysters and they are one of the only oyster bars in my area.

The oysters for the most part were good but there were a few that were rather gritty. Major disappointment, no one enjoys a gritty oyster. Other than that my lobster tail was done to perfection.

We did order the chocolate cake that was sadly nothing to write home about. I am a huge fan of chocolate but this cake was sadly nothing special.

Check back soon for reviews on White Chocolate Grill and Texas de Brazil!!!

Bouchon – Las Vegas

We absolutely had to make a stop at Bouchon in the Venetian while we were in Las Vegas. I had always been wanting to try the traditional croque madame and I heard this was the ideal place to do it.

Bouchon has a french cafe feel rather than a traditional french restaurant feel. With this restaurant being in the Venetian it makes you feel as though you are in France enjoying the most delicious cuisine.

RM Seafood by Rick Moonen was an amazing experience. The food was amazing, the atmosphere is very mellow but also gorgeous.

yummy oysters

Oysters were prepared perfectly. None were stuck in the shells and were very fresh! Absolutely delicious!

calamari

The calamari pictured above was absolutely amazing! It was extremely fresh! Fried calamari with fried sweet and spicy cherry peppers. We just could not get enough of this dish! If you are a fan of calamari this is a must have!

salmon

Salmon was cooked to perfection.

sides

Moonen’s mash and garlic spinach, two things that we could not resist trying. The mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious. The capers, red onion, and scallions were the prefect addition to this amazing side.

My trip to Bamboo Spoon

Posted in Food tagged , , , , , , , , at 8:26 pm by Foodie With An Agenda

Today was my first trip to Bamboo Spoon in Barrington and may I say that I was pleasantly surprised. I have never been to a frozen yogurt cafe but it was a treat. The staff was very helpful and explained how it worked, the only thing that would have been nice to know was how much it cost ahead of time. There were quite a few flavors and a ton of toppings and sauces.

I was not very adventurous on my first visit but will definitely be back. Today I had plain vanilla with some Reese’s peanut buttercups minis, so yummy. The vanilla yogurt was very tasty rather than the boring tasteless stuff that you think of. They have toppings from fresh fruit to fruity pebbles cereal. Highly recommend this place. Not super cheap but worth the money because you can have as much or as little as you want. Just remember prices are based on weight so the more you get the more it’s gonna cost.

Another thing that I liked about this place was that they were eco-friendly. The spoons are recyclable and they had very little furniture and the furniture they did have was plastic. We sat outside on the green plastic chairs with the black tables. Very cute little place.

Beer battered cheese curds!

Posted in Food, Uncategorized tagged , , , , , at 10:29 pm by Foodie With An Agenda

Sometimes you find the most amazing food in the most unexpected places. This is one of those times. Who goes to a flea market looking for good food. I wasn’t until I stumbled across beer battered deep fried cheese curds from Wisconsin. I really am not a fan of deep fried anything but we could not get enough of these.

They are amazing little pieces of cheese that are served hot with your choice of dipping sause. I chose ranch but you can get bbq, ranch, salsa, or hot sause. There was a massive line for these things and I see why!!!

Popcorn!!

So I really am not a huge popcorn person but I have to say that this stuff is amazing!! The Classic Mix is cheese and caramel. I personally eat them separately but they are good together.  I have to admit this is another one of my guilty pleasures because it is rather on the expensive side, were talking like $5 or $6 a bag, but it is so worth it!!
